The Trio Programs at °®¶¹´«Ã½C are Federal outreach and student services programs designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our goal is to help give students from low-income families an equal opportunity to earn a college education. °®¶¹´«Ã½C's Federal TRIO Programs (TRIO) are U.S. Department of Education outreach and student services programs designed to serve low-income individuals, first-generation college students, and individuals with disabilities, progress through the academic pipeline from middle school to college.

Explore our four TRIO Programs to find the one that is the best fit for you.

Program for Academic Support Services (PASS) PASS is for current °®¶¹´«Ã½C students who:

  • Have completed 12 units at °®¶¹´«Ã½C 
  • Are low-income or a first-generation college student or have a disability.
  • Want to earn an AA / AS degree or a certificate and transfer to a four-year university.
  • Demonstrate academic need
Upward Bound Classic A pre-college support program for students who:

  • Attend John Muir, Blair, Pasadena High School, Arroyo High School or Rosemead High School.
  • Are low-income or a first-generation college student.
Upward Bound Math Science A pre-college support program for students who:

  • Plan to pursue a college degree in STEM
  • Attend one of our target high schools in Pasadena or El Monte
  • Are low-income or a first-generation college student.
